Discouraged with House Party, but I got a reply!

In a reply to a message I sent them about how the same people get picked for every houseparty and some get none or one or two and apply to them all and others sell their stuff on ebay.

    Hi Deanna,

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent House Party
    application.

House Party has grown steadily since its creation, and while we always
regret having to turn away a single would-be party host, the success of
our promotions has lead to a steady rise in the number of applications
most of our projects generate… and thus an increase in the number of
quality applicants who do not get selected. We appreciate your
enthusiasm for hosting a House Party, and understand your frustration over
not being selected. Please understand that while our goal is always the
same – to find great hosts who truly love the featured brand and want
to share it with their friends -- each House Party uses different
selection criteria to achieve that goal, based primarily on the
requirements of our partners, but also varying with the size and nature of the
    total applicant pool.

We do understand that, given the size of our promotions, a group of
chosen hosts may sometimes include people whose motives are mixed, and who
do not fully comply with the spirit (or even the stated parameters) of
the promotion. We are working to develop better ways to identify
these people – along with the far larger group of people at the other
extreme, who go above and beyond our stated parameters – to continue to
improve the overall House Party experience for our partners and our
partygoers. However, House Party will always reserve the right to conduct
host selection in the ways that best suit our partners, who provide
the featured attraction for each promotion.

We truly appreciate your taking the time to share your views, and hope
that your disappointment will not discourage you from applying to
future House Party promotions. While selection as a host is never
guaranteed, we will take your feedback into consideration on future
applications. Also, we should note that many of our clients are starting to
consider larger promotions, allowing us to accept more hosts. We hope you
will continue to apply for parties which are of genuine interest to you
and your friends, and wish you the best of luck.

Thank you again for your interest in House Party.

Please reply back to this email without changing the subject line if
    you have further clarifications.

    Sincerely,
    Consumer Care

Well, I think that was a very nice response from them and it makes me think highly of Houseparty. Most companies just give a canned response.

Don't be discouraged mama2gemnsam, sooner or later you will get picked. Up until a month ago, I had only been chosen for the Cartoon Network party. Then I got the other Cartoon Network and Kenmore parties and at the last minute, I got in the Hershey one.. so that made it worth the wait. I was getting discouraged and was going to quit applying but others told me not to give up. I do not apply to the ones that I have no interest in or if I don't care for the product, to give somebody else a chance. I realize the odds are usually only about 1 in 5 that you will get picked. Maybe they will come up with a way to rotate hosts more.

I also am willing to bet that some people fill out numerous applications using different names, so they are almost sure to get picked. These are probably the ones you see on Ebay.

I know it's hard to not get picked for a Houseparty especially when it's something that fits your lifestyle. But think about all the great freebies and opportunities we get from being a part of this community. In my case I would not even know about houseparty had it not been for YDF

    Here's to many hosting opportunites!

Someone is selling their party kit on ebay!?! Wow, that takes alot of nerve!

I agree with my3joes. It was nice of them to give a sincere response. As far as getting picked for the house parties. . I can't say how many I've applied for, but I know I've only been picked for 2.

The first one I was too slow to get on the site and set up my party.
The second was Hershey's Bliss and let me tell you, I was lucky I was sitting at my computer when the email came in or I probably wouldn't have got in on that one too.

All we can do is keep trying!

That was a very nice response from them instead of a canned email.

I've gotten into 3, and there's a few that I haven't been picked for either. You just have to keep trying.

That really was a nice response and I have to say that I really feel that HP is a standup company to deal with. I know that my biggest frustration comes from getting picked for something then not being able to get to the website to set up my party. I got picked for the Pink and Plad party but did not get to the site fast enough to set up my party. After that I did not get picked for any more parties, ones that I was sure I was perfect for. The Ben 10, the Closer, and so on. But I will continue to try; and I will be honest and host my parties. I have never nor will I ever sell anything on ebay, unless I use it and don't like it.
I am sorry for everyone who has not yet been accepted for a party. All I can say is keep trying and when you see that a Party is up, go to House Party and log on. Because if you were picked for a party, it will prompt you to set it up and then you won't miss out on them; even if the email as yet to be sent.

Keep trying! it took me a while to get picked too.. but I did 3 last year..Cartoon Network, and the Pink party, the gerber one.. and have been picked for quite a few lately as well. My family/friends have been loving me. We've been having a blast. It's worked out that alot of the ones I've signed up for.. have been when I have been having parties.
My sis in law (her 1st one) had a baby 6 months prior to having the gerber one.. so we had a big party for all the newer moms in the area, and had a big play date. It was a great way to get to know other moms. I had the cartoon network one for my sons birthday.. and it was a HUGE hit. My brothers gf is pregnant.. and due in 3 weeks, so we used the bliss stuff for the shower. It's been great We get to have fun and the help when we need it.. as well as getting the products known to everyone.

Don't give up! It'll be your turn soon, im sure
