What's Happening in November ....
I hope everyone had a great Halloween! We had lots of fun here getting ready for the big day and dressing up too! I was to sick to go out with the children trick -or- treating this year so I stayed home and passed out goodies for the first time ever. It was a big change and fun too but I missed not going out with MooMoo on his birthday. Its the first year I have ever missed taking him out trick-or-treating on his Birthday. He was okay with it though and had lots of fun with daddy. They all got heaps of candy and got to stay up till midnight as a special treat.
As most of you know I have been sick ever since having swine flu. I really have no clue what has been going on with me but my coughing has gotten so bad I am wheezing and having a hard time breathing. Needless to say I didn't get everything I had planned on and wanted to do done the last two months. I hate admitting defeat but I have yet to get Holiday Express#2 out or the Potlock Envie (Although I think I read Erica put out a Potlock Envie Thank you for being such a big help! I appreciate it! We all do! ) Nor did I ever organize the Coupon Tag Sale like I wanted too. I really feel bad about that but its still not a lost cause. For November I plan on keeping my goals simple since I am still technically sick.My November Goals: 1. ) Finish Holiday Express#2 and get it in the mail. I have everything ready but am short on food coupons. I want it to have 300 plus like the first Envie did before I mail it out. My goal is to get this out this week. 2. ) Potlock Envie. Since it is already made and going the rounds I will make sure to add enough coupons to it to make it an even hundred or more. 3. ) Food Donation: I will double check when the order needs to be placed at the church near me and anyone wishing to donate to the cause can. I will probably take donations through the mail and or by paypal. Also just a thought on Expireds in support of Shelley. Please keep the expired coupons coming and be thoughtful and leave the baggie in each envie even if you don't have any to add. Our Soldiers Give so much of themselves to ensure our freedom and now is the perfect time of year to say thank you to them and be supportive to them even if all we can do is pass on our expired coupons. This is the time of year everyone's budgets get tighter and its especially tighter for our Service Men and Women Overseas who are budgeting Christmas for their families as well. So please leave the expired baggie in each envie. Lots of Love, Kimberly |

Kim - I am glad to hear from you. I hope the doctors can help you. Having a cough like that must be awful.
Just to recap what I put in the old thread. 1. Mailed Holiday Express package to Glori on yesterday 11/2 via priority mail 2. Added a Potluck envelope that can be used as a car. 3. Received a car from Pennix. I will try to mail out on Thursday. Happy Tuesday to all! Last edited by heyABLE; 11-03-2009 at 03:13 PM. |

Thanks! ![]() I'll fix the tracker soon. Not looking forward to going to the doctor's but I know I have to go tonight . Hopefully its nothing to bad. Today I was coughing so hard while walking to get the kids from school. I felt like I was going to pass out and had to stop several times. Lucky for me the crossing guard and I are friendly and she knows I don't like the children walking by themselves so she had them wait for me.Hopefully tomarrow is a better day.

being careful with coughs
i once carried around pnuemonia for over 2 months, trying to "live" with a cough... it ended up delaying my surgery and making the holidays REALLY awful. PLEASE be careful and take good care of yourself. consider getting a pnuemonia shot after you recover. its good prevention.

Dr. Appt.
I found out I have Bronchitis and a double ear infection last night. My one ear sure hurts more than the other thu! The Doc gave me an antibiotic and a prescription strength cough syrup that makes me super sleepy. I slept most of the day away today. I sure am tired still thu!
Just wanted to stop in and say Hi and let everyone know I'm okay. Shelley sure is right. Never mess around with a cough. Dr. said I was lucky I went in when I did. |

![]() Yes it is so sad when babies get sick. It makes you feel so helpless as a mom. My youngest turns 3 on Monday and I feel awful whenever she gets sick. All you can do is baby them. My son used to get ear infections pretty often as a baby/toddler and the only thing that every seemed to help him is if I put his head on my chest and covered his painful ear with my hand putting just a little pressure to relieve the throbbing. It was the only thing that kept him from crying. Of course I was pretty much trapped on the sofa after that but it made him feel better. I'm pretty convinced now that I better quit smoking. I've been thinking about it for some time now as I turn 30 in Dec. but after getting sick like this and not being able to breath I know for a fact I need to stop while I'm ahead. It sucked not being able to walk to the school the other day without feeling like I was going to pass out. How embarrassing regardless if I'm sick or not. It's barely a 15 minute walk! ![]() If anyone has some tips on quitting I'd appreciate them. I've quit in the past but always started back up again. I'd like to stop smoking for good. Hate to admit it but I started smoking at 14 (Cigarettes are way to easy for even American kids to get in Germany). So literally most of my life I've smoked. The only time I did not smoke was when I was pregnant but the minute I got out of the hospital from my C sections I sure did light up quick since I didn't want to take my pain meds. Everyone says I look a lot younger than I actually am but how long can my looks hold up if I'm putting all these toxins in my body? I guess turning 30 has made me think a lot about what I eat and put in my body. Feeling so winded sure doesn't help either. Its also made me think about my friend Ms. Lorraine a lot. She passed away two years ago and way before her time. She was only 47. She'd struggled with her weight and smoking for a long time. The doctors had told her she was prediabetic and that she had heart disease. They warned her that summer that if she didn't actively try to lose weight and quit smoking she would pass away before Christmas. She put up a brave fight but could never really quit smoking completely. She passed away just a few weeks before Halloween that year. It broke my heart to find her. She was such a good friend and like a grandma to my children. I haven't had a close friend like her since. I think about her all the time. I guess that's also motivated me to quit for good. I'll be about her age when my baby is finally ready to graduate high school. I need to be around still! |
