GRE/Graduate School
Is there anyway to get GRE financial assistance for this exam? Any information/ advice would help to have a smooth transition into graduate school

You can get a "fee reduction certificate" if you meet certain qualifications. It's not totally free, but you get 50% off the price. You can read more about it on ETS's website at: http://www.ets.org/portal/site/ets/m...0022f95190RCRD
When I took the test a couple of years ago, I had some trouble getting a fee reduction certificate from my school, they were trying to tell me they hadn't received any yet or some nonsense like that. Basically what it boiled down to is that someone didn't know what they were doing. So, I encourage you to take the names of the people you are speaking with (for accountability's sake) and not to take "No!" for an answer. Same goes for the entire graduate school application process, ETS probably sends out millions of score reports and each school probably receives thousands upon thousands of applications, so it's easy for people to make mistakes and to treat you like an ant in the middle of a big anthill. By the way, you can also get the application fee waived at many schools. Even if they don't advertise it, send the graduate school admissions office an email and ask about it, I got the fee waived at several schools this way. |
