Forgive me I'm getting so many mixed answers and know everyone here is knowledgable so I must ask. How many pounds or ounces does a person take into account for weight gain when it is her "time of the month". I'm trying to figure out how much improvement I've had the past few months at eating and gaining this weight scares the willies out of me but I want to be sure it's accurate. Some people tell me it's as much as 3lbs - others tell me you don't gain at all. I'm very confused as always.

I don't recall any weight gain (but I never weighed myself often) nor did I notice bloat (clothes never fit differently), but I'm sure everyone is different. Some people eat differently then, and I suppose if you're craving salty foods you would be retaining more water, hence a lb or two. Just a guess.

I think this would vary depending on the individual.
I know that myself, personally, when dieting, that I will not lose weight, and may gain a pound in the week leading up to my period, The following week though, I will seem to lose more weight. Is that clear? So, say I was losing a pound a week - the week before my period I wouldn't lose, as soon as my period started I would lose rwo pounds that week. PS Sorry if this is all TMI |

Also, I "think" that it might be helpful to check your weight weekly at most - otherwise you're too focused on the little ups & downs. Keep doing what you should be doing, and check weekly or monthly, and there should be progress evident. How do you think you are doing? |
