Angry OT-grocery stores banning internet coupons?

Not sure if anyone else has issues with this-I did during xmas season with some retail stores but never grocery stores.I wanted to post the link-hope I get this right.I live in Charlotte,NC-but was wondering if this was a concern in a lot of other places.I usually use these types of coupons a lot from various sites....

They announced on the news this morning that Publix will no longer be accepting them here. That is the only grocery store I use. They said some people in their Atlanta stores got $150.00 in free merchandise using copied coupons and that was why.

Locally my Rita Aid will no longer accept them, and Wal-Mart does but gives me a very hard time about it.

I just tried the Hollywood Video coupon and they said no...and I noticed at MacDonalds the other day - there was a sign of a specific internet coupon they said they are not taking because it was copied fradulently.

I feel these if these companies are going to put coupons out there (internet or paper) they should be for everyone not just the select few they decide to send them too.....

I understand some people abuse the system and that is the problem.....but again then they shouldnt put the coupon out there for anyone....
(getting off my soapbox now-Just my opinion!)

I have the same problem here in Philly. Pathmark will never accept internet coupons. I have written them but never got a response. Wal-mart also gives a problem. Some CVS stores will take them, others will not. As for RiteAid, I think they have an employment policy where they will not hire anyone who's IQ is larger than their shoe size. They refused my TWIX coupons even thought I brought the envelopes with the letter from M&M Mars.

Wow, I haven't had any probs (yet) using the coupons I get off the internet...I use mine at Walmart here in Northwest Indiana...so far nothing has been said about them and I haven't heard anything on the news around here about stores no longer accepting them...I sure hope it doesnt come to that around here, but I'm sure if it's coming to that every where else it will eventually be here too!

Cruzenman, I cannot believe that RiteAid would not take your coupon..that is just ridiculous...(BTW I did find it funny what ya said about the employees..hehe!! )

always different, depends on store and cashier:

here in NJ, Pathmark and ShopRite will not like to accept internet coupon, if you argue, you may win, but always hard time facing the cashier and manager.

one way is to contact the manufactory webside - "contact us", report the issue, and they will send you the real coupon instead.

Even Target don't like internet coupon: once I argued with them by using a Target coupon combined with internet manufactory coupon, I wrote to Target customer service online, and got response that I can use internet coupon and combine with store coupon, I won, though I had to went there twice for the item.

I had a problem last week at Shop Rite here in NJ. They would not accept my free 20ct Advil coupon, which was a legit coupon for taking a survey. I was told there were to many counterfit coupons and they would not accept it.

I guess I have been lucky because my Shoprite here in NY always accepts internet coupons. Target is another story!

Oh no! I looked on the counterfeit list and it lists coupons that I legitimately downloaded from coupons inc. or the websites of the products! And I shop at Publix as well but have not been there since last week so don't know if the ones here have banned them or not yet. This is soooo disappointing as I rely on coupons to help my strict budget!
