Need Advice From the Pros on First time Doubling/Tripling

I can't believe it but my local QFC (Quality Food Centers) is letting us trible up to .50 face value and double up to $1.00. I live in Washington and this is the first time I've seen anyone do this here. So I'm very excited! Even though I just went and got grocery's yestaurday, I'm still going. I've always said that if they ever doubled here I would save so much money, and finally I have the chance. They will be doing this on Friday through Sunday, so I have a couple of days to get ready.

How do you approach this situation? Do you pull all the coupons that you can get a product for free or really cheap? What is the best way to handle this? Any good pointers out there would be great.

Thanks

Well for me, I'd say sort your coupons ASAP. If you have a car, haul all your coupons with you LOL that way, if you see something you can get for free, you'll have the coupon right there!

I mean when I first started, (don't have car), I gathered all the coupons that would be useful to me (cleaners food etc), then I took my coupon carrier with me to the doubling (I was so excited):D I made sure I knew the limit (because some will for example limit 4 like coupons to be doubled). I know the limits so I do seperate orders so I can get everything I want. Since you have 3 days, try doing multiple trips in one day. See for a person that has a car, they can dump their stuff in their car and go back in and do it again. Me? I just take my stuff home and try it again. If you Binder, you'd be doing even better than me lol. I struggle with those bags but it IS worth it.

I hope you have lots of luck shopping this weekend! I know how excited I was the first time I was able to get triple coupons! I wanted to tell you what I did - I actually took all the coupons with me that were .50 or less that I knew they would triple. You of course might want to take all that were $1.00 or less. I had all of them written down with the amount of the coupon, in alphabetical order. I walked around the store looking for things that were $2.00 or less and looked at my list to see how much my coupon was for to see how close to free I could get it! Looking at the sales paper won't always tell you everything that's on sale! Lots of luck to you and let us know how you do!!

Also, get there early. Stores around here don't restock during triple coupons so shelves go bare fast.

If you can go more than once, try a few coupons the first trip between .50 and 1.00 and see if the computer triples them too. Our Acme says they only triple (on the triple coupon days) up to .50 coupons for up to 1.50 off, but I've noticed on my receipts that my .75 coupons will double up to 1.50 and they will add .50 to my 1.00 coupons. Then can go back through your coupons and hit the sale the second day for your other coupon items.

Hope that makes cents!:D

Thanks! I plan on heading over there first thing Friday morning. The only problem is that I have to take my 13 month old twins. So I'm going to try to organize my coupons as well as I can. I bought another organizer so I will only take the coupons that can be used and the ones I can get products for really cheap.

I really don't think very many people coupon around here. This last week when Safeway had all the free stuff the cashiers said I was the only one getting it for free. I guess I will see this weekend. It should be calling all the couponers out from the wood work! lol I can't wait.

Thanks

I couldn't believe all the stuff I was getting! I saved over $500 dollars out of all my 6 trips there. People don't use coupons around here. The first time in, the lady said I was the first to use the coupons and that many. I had the same cashier every time and she was as excitted as I was to see the savings. I hooked her up today and gave her all the coupons that I didn't need and that were expiring on the 30th of this month. They said out of all three days there was only one other person that saved $100 dollars and that was it. I can't believe it! Everyone was really nice and a man even asked me to come teach his wife! lol

Thanks you guys! I wish I could do this all the time. I'd never have any coupons. hehe

Congratulations!

Great job! Now you're going to become an coupon addict :D

We also has triple coupons this weekend, got a lot of free bisquick mix and toaster strudles plus a free mega-size pack of diapers that rang up the wrong price! Gotta love those "right price or you get it free" guarantees!

Don't know if you have already discovered it, but Ebay is a great resource for coupons. You can search for the products you want and then have a whole bunch of coupons ready for the next triple weekend. Our Acme runs triple coupons about every two months and we get their weekly sale ads the Thursday before they start. If you use a buy-it-now on Ebay you can usually have the coupons you need before your sale ends.

Congrats again,
Cyn

Thanks

Now I have to go buy some shelves to start my very first stockpile!

It would of been nice to have known in advance. I found out that day that Safeway was doing it and they were so much cheaper than the other store. Safeway didn't even know until that very day. It was that well planned. lol

Thanks again
