In my experience, it totally varies from company to company. I'd say expect 6-8 weeks or more :D

I suggest making a copy of the forms and receipt before you send them. Once I didn't make copies and never received a $50 rebate on a printer I purchased a few years back, so you learn to be more careful!
Also, read the fine print at the bottom of the form and you will see how long it should take. Mark your calendar so you'll know to remind yourself to follow up in case it doesn't arrive. They usually have a phone number that you can call or another address to write to in the event you don't receive the rebate in the specified amount of time. Sometimes, they will even have a way to submit it partially online then you mail in the rest (Officemax rebates often have this) - I think it's called easyrebate or something like that. Very important: follow the instructions carefully. For instance, sometimes you have to circle the price paid, and for companies like Walgreens you have to write the offer number next to the price paid. If you don't follow the instructions exactly, it will delay processing and in some cases, they may reject your form and not send you any payment at all. Good luck! Dyan

I do the Walgreen's rebates on a regular basis --- and choose the option to get a Walgreen's gift card with a 10% bonus instead of the check. I almost always get the postcard that my card has been updated with the rebate money within a month.
Other than that, I have had mixed luck. It's a great suggestion to photocopy your rebates because I've found that a lot of times, the rebate doesn't come unless I call and complain! |
