The Grocery Game

This was on our local news last night but I just tried it and it's not available in my area. Hope you all have better luck:

I just checked this out. It's a subscription to a shopping list of what's on sale in your area & which coupons to use.
Subscription Price
Pay by credit card on-line:
Automatic Renewal $10 every 8 weeks = $1.25/week!
It's a good idea if you don't want to look for yourself in the circulars. They have a message board but it's not much compared to this one.Thanx anyway.

I did the trial and canceled. I agree as the previous poster mentioned -- you can look through the flyers and do it yourself. My biggest problem is the delay it takes to get the information up. I can sometimes get flyers as early as Wednesday (for sales starting on Sunday) or other times as late as Saturday but TGG did not put up the sales until Tuesday for my area -- and by then I can't order multiple coupons so it does not work for me at all.

Sorry about this. They didn't mention a cost for the service on the news when they did a piece about this. I'll have to e-mail the station and tell them it's a rip-off!!!!!

Please don't be sorry . . . I also don't know if it is a true rip off . . . For some people who don't coupon like we do it may very well be worth the cost to have someone do the leg work for them . . . The cost is not outrageous especially if the information is going to be used on a weekly basis -- for me it is cheaper and faster to do it myself and I love the thrill of the hunt.

I paid my $1 for my trial & canceled too. The problem is that they do not have all my stores (only had Kroger) and they posted too late. They also have this system for stockpiling and list the #'s of canned goods-etc that you should buy on each trip. I can look at my shelves & decide what items I am low on myself.

This might work for someone who doesn't have time to look at the ads but still wants to save money. But if you don't have time to look at an ad, you wouldn't have time to clip coupons either! YDF is by far the best info out there & it's free!:D

I did this for the free trial period.
I thought actually wow.
from what I remember it showed what was on sale, what the coupon "I Had" amounts were and the amount it was gonna cost.

Basically to use this program you need to have several weeks worth of coupons first. Be willing to use other brands that are on sale. I did honestly save the first week $14.00 more then usual on items/brands I don't frequent and had coupons for that I wasn't using before-- make sense?. switching brands is not always ok.

worth the $1.00 to try it!

I have been doing this for over 3 months now and in no way is this a rip off. I have saved over $1400.00 in just 3 months. Yep I pay now about $65-75.00 per week for food versus my usual $250.00 or so. For me it is totally worth it. Plus I am stockpiling like crazy. I have about 20 tubes of toothpaste, pasta sauce, deodorant, etc... I personally love it. To each his own..

I tried this also for the one month trial period. If it had matched my Krogers, it would have been great. It has the "hidden" sales as well as the flyer sales. But the hidden sales listed on the Grocery Game did not match my store so it was very frustrating. The Grocery Game would have been great if I lived in Houston, which apparently is what it was set up for in Texas. So id you live in Houston, TX, I can recommend it as saving you time by letting you know ahead of time what is on sale in your area, both in the flyer and not.
