OT--can you buy rather than rent movies at Blockbuster?
sorry if this is the wrong forum {blush}
I won a $50 Blockbuster gc from the GM instant win awhile ago, and recently got it in the mail....thing is, there isn't a Blockbuster nearby, so it would be unrealistic to get a membership and use the gc on rentals (thus spending a fortune in gas there and back renting movies)...so I was wondering, if I do journey to Blockbuster, can one outright *buy* movies, and if so, can you do it without a membership card? i checked online and it seems as though there are only rentals on the website, I was wondering if the B&M stores are the same way?? TIA

Yep, you can buy new or used movies in-store, I believe without a membership card. The used DVDs are usually $12.99-$14.99 or 2 for $20, but they occasionally run specials, like buy two, get one free. I bought 3 for $25.98 recently, and they were fairly new releases. Hope that helps!

Yes, you can buy new or previously viewed movies there. I don't have a membership there either, but I've purchased both.
Congrats on the win! Nat |

they have a lot of pre-viewed movies that you can buy but not usually brand new ones. (at least our's does) Also, among lots of snacks, you can buy Ben&Jerry's there.

Every Blockbuster I have ever been to has had movies to buy. They are usually on the endcaps or in it's own section. They are usually a few dollars more than what you'd get at, say, Best Buy. They also have previously viewed movies they re-shrink wrap that are typically under $10.
My DH is crazy about Blockbuster so we are there a lot (as you can probably tell. lol) Congrats on your win and enjoy your gift card! |

Yep, you can buy new and/or used movies & video games. Many blockbusters also sell DVD players and video game accessories (sometimes the systems, as well).
