OT: Mattress question

Has anyone here at the board ever purchased a mattress from Denver Mattress? I have heard they are really good and I need to buy a new mattress set. I had originally considered Serta but ehard that Denver Mattress is worth looking into. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone

Exclamation Mattress Question

We bought a Serta Mattress about 10 years ago from Sears, we paid around $1200 for a pillowtop queen mattress. Within 6 months, the stitching around the edge of the pilllowtop came undone almost all the way around the bed. The warranty guy came out and checked it to see if we could get it fixed or replaced. He said it wasn't a craftsmanship issue. If I were you I would go to Denver Mattress Co. That is where I am going this time around.

Hey same thing happened to ours. We bought it in 1997 and really made me mad. Will never buy serta again. The bed itself was not worth the money that we paid for it either as it has not held up.

Thanks so much you two. Serta was what we were originally considering so glad I had that input. I did a bunch of research and Denver Mattress seemed favorable but then I also came across White Dove. They are a 4th generation business out of Cleveland and have one of the most excellent ratings (The mattress we bought has a 20 year warranty! I was shocked!) This mattress is awesome. Can't wait for it to be delivered. I think sometimes it is best to avoid the huge companies like Serta Sealy and Simmons (Simmons had the most complaints I had ever seen. Def stayed away from them)I think these companies are so huge that they get complacent because the have the bulk of the market. White Dove is predominately in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana areas. They came out with a new higher end "luxury" line that will be going national now. Their Cambridge line is high end too. Very very nice. I was impressed

I am looking for a mattress that is all foam, no coils. Anyone have a store suggestion for a less expensive option? I looked at a warehouse/distributor type shop and they wanted $1000 for just the mattress!! I think it was an Englander. I guess I don't mind the name brand so much as a quality foam core. The coils in our old mattress are just about coming through the top, and it's just 4 years old!!

DH bought our mattress from Denver mattress about five years ago. It is not that comfortable anymore - but that's probably more due to getting one of their cheapest mattresses. We were going to buy a brand new mattress, but decided to try a fancy feather bed first. We spent $200 on a feather bed to top it and it has been so comfortable for the past two years now! They have $50 and cheaper feather beds -- but we found the fancy $2000 one that we got to be great and cheaper than a new mattress.

On the same token, before we were married, I had a fancy pillow top one for a year -- we initially used it, but it gave DH bad back pain. It was a bummer to get rid of a $1000+ mattress set - but I was at least able to sell it for $300 and recoup some of the loss.

Memory Foam?

Has anyone bought a memory foam mattress or mattress topper? I'm thinking I need one or the other. Any suggestions?
