Opinons Needed Please

I saw a traders post on another board for a Speed Stick Try Me Free form. I was interested in it and explained why in my original email:

"Hi. My name is Maddy and I saw your post at XXXXXXXXXX for the Speed Stick TMF. Can you tell me if this is good on the 24/7? I bought one to do last months CVS rebate. My husband decided to help clean up when company came and I found my stuff the day after the postmark cut off . . . I was going to return it but if this will work just the same that would be great. I already bought another one for the July CVS rebate and of course used a coupon on both transactions.

Sorry to go on. If it is good on the 24/7 I need one form please. I will be able to send PayPal via available funds including postage.

Thanks!"

Now I feel that I very specifically said that I needed this for a recipiet dated last month and that I already had made a purchase for the current CVS speed stick try me free rebate.

I received a form from the CVS July rebate sheet for the Speed Stick 24/7 Try Me Free.

I sent $.47 to cover the trade and postage. Do I chalk it up to a lesson learned? Should I have asked something else . . . Do I email the trader and if so what do I ask for . . .

I have been trading for several years and I do not want to be considered rude or inappropriate but I do think I tried to be clear . . . So I am not sure how or if I should proceede.

Maddy

here is my opinion:

I think your wording was a bit unclear. I read your statements several times, and can see how the trader may have misunderstood what exactly you had from CVS or whether or not you actually did the CVS rebate. IMHO the trader should have been just confused enough to ask for a clarification, but then again, the trader was coming out ahead.

if I were in your shoes (and have been once or twice), I might just send an email stating something like,
I received your end of the trade today. I went back over our emails and now think we did not have a meeting of the minds, as I did not want a CVS rebate form. I appreciate the trade; unfortunately I cannot use this form but I did learn a lesson about being absolutely specific with my requests. Thanks again.

then it is sort of in the other person's hands to offer or not offer a refund.

sorry this happened to you, occassionally traders make mistakes, occassionally they deliberately try to take advantage of someone, but I really think in this case it was poor communication.
