When you cut your coupons out put in two piles. Food and non food.
Now separate these into groups and put in envelopes that came in junk mail, with what is inside on the front and back. Non Refrigerated Frozen Refrigerated: Cheese, meat, etc. Baking: Snacks: Then do the non food Laundry Cleaning Personal Shampoo Deodorant Dental Medicine, vitamins etc paper Get the idea?? Now make another envie for things that are free or wine tags etc. I mark that NOW Go thru that NOW envie at the end of every month and remove what is going to expire and put in August File Envie ......You know you have to use these coupons or they are going to expire. I keep these in a large shoe box that the top and bottom are the same exact size. I put that in one of those plastic bags from the store and carry to my trunk and back to my house after shopping. I place that box in the bag right in the cart or buggy and it doesn't matter if I go to the grocery store or to target. I tuck any refund forms or coupons I find in the store between the two parts of the box that are together because they are sitting inside each other and when I get home they are easy to find. Every week get the sales flyer and see what is on sale and only buy what you use that you have coupons for. When it is buy one get one free, I always use two coupons. I don't put them together on my pile but separate so they both don't show up together when you hand to the cashier. Most of the time they both come off the buy one get 1 free item. If you have two coupons for an item such as Buy a-1 mariname or steaksauce and get $1 off beef use that and also the coupon $1 off a-1 steak sauce and if you have a wine tag for beef use that also. Triple Play. Always place these coupons in separate parts of your coupons that you hand to the cashier. Always look for a young guy cashier. Stay away from the older women. Get to know your cashiers..... Young girls are my second choice. Check your supers coupon policy at customer service. . Do they take other store coupons such as $5 off of $25.....My Publix takes all other store coupons and I combine that with a manufacturer coupon. Albertsons take all other grocery store coupons. So does Kash N Karry......They will take a grocery store coupon from 50 miles away as far as I am concerned. I found that out through the entertainment book. I learn something new everyday about couponing and refunding. I hope this helps you a little. I save 50% most of the time when I shop...... |

Thanks for the tips - I had never thought about asking a store to honor competitor coupons! We get "Smart & Final" coupons for $10 off of $25 every once in a while, but I always throw them out. I'll have to see if my regular grocery store will honor them!
![]() PS - our Walmart price matches. I thought that everyone knew this because our store has the competitor grocery store flyers posted at the front of the store and a sign saying that they price match. My sister told me that her store doesn't have a huge display like our's does and that she didn't know that they price match. It can't hurt to ask! |

Thats a nice "cutting/sorting" procedure but I put each coupon seperately..(not into non-food or food piles) . I generally have 3 inserts worth so I put the coupons each in thier own little stack of 3 but mine don't get into envies..they go straight into the proper catagory in my My Binder. I have about 80 catagories in my binder.
Coupons from wine pads are a bit rare but when I get some they live in a zipper side pocket of my purse cuz they aren't gonna be unspent very long. I spent those fast as I get them. I don't use every coupon so I don't cut every coupon. However sometimes something I don't generally buy becomes profitable to buy with a coupon for a rebate ect, so I do like to keep my inserts with what I didn't cut out, just in case I want those coupons later. I put those in a manilla file with the date on it. Even a couple sets of inserts are much easier to locate in a file with the date if you want that coupon later. I agree you have to know the rules of EACH store in your area. None of our stores take other stores coupons. None of our staores take printables. Super-K USED to price match but they stopped that. Walmart does still price match but is small and has no groceries! Walmart is currently being expanded into "Super" so later there will groceries sold there. "piggybacking" is allowed rarely lately.. sometimes it works fine but it depends on the coupon wording and the store rules. EVERY clerk in EVERY store here READS coupons before scanning them. One store lets us use 2 coupons on a B1G1 but the other stores only allow one coupon for the set of 2. It depends on how the register is set up. If each of the items in the B1G1 set of two registers a price I can use 2 coupons.. but if one item of the B1G1 has a price and the other one is aprice of zero then I can only use one coupon. So have to ask at EACH store about how they specifically do it. Thread discussing Coupon Binder organization can be found on this YDF link: http://www.freesamplesite.com/ydf/sh...light=Organize Threa at YDF discussing other ways of organizeing coupons can be found on this link: http://www.freesamplesite.com/ydf/sh...light=Organize And here is yet another ink to a YDF thread concerning coupon organization: http://www.freesamplesite.com/ydf/sh...light=Organize There is lots of good info in all 3 of those threads. ALSO if you no longer carry a diaper bag but want a nice tote bag to carry your purse and coupon organizer together in a tote into the store.. I think this one (item # 35798 from Blair) would the job nicely. I ordered one myself but it has not arrived yet. I think my Binder and purse would fit. I do have a strap on my binder but think I'll like this tote for carrying the purse and the binder.
Use code VDS for FREE shipping. Hopefully this link is the right YDF link. (Mods, please help change if it's not) http://www.blair.com/webapp/wcs/stor...=10001&go.y=12 |

I'm in the luckyme school of binder organization :D , 'specially with my multiple coupons. Lol, my wine tags go in the zippered pouches too - always the first to be used! Plus, when I got serious about couponing a few years back, the last thing I needed was a certain toddler to tip over an organized box and play 52 pickup in the aisles! But it only works if you keep it up to date EVERY SINGLE DAY. That's my late night routine when Ash is in bed, dh is at work and reality tv programming is at its finest.
![]() It's a great time to purchase coupon/rebate sorting products with the school supply sales...or wait til clearance time, that's when I bought my zippered binders, pouches, etc. |

Thanks for all of your opinions. This is not my orginial writing. This was fwded to me by email. I do not do non food and food items/catagories. I have a coupon book with seperate sections for milk, dairy, meat, etc. This keeps me organized and more sane than my friend's way of doing things (you know, different strokes for different folks). But I have to admit that couponing has saved me so much money--I never leave home without my coupons!
