Stop & Shop - Free soup & gravy mix!

Okay, DH posted this over on FW, but letting everyone here know about it too.

Stop & Shop supermarket in NJ (and I believe other states too, but check your local one) is advertising a bunch of items in this weeks flyer that you can "buy 8 of these items in one trasaction & you'll receive a checkout coupon good for $8 off your next order".

Well, the thing is that they have packets of McCormick Gravies included in the 'buy 8 of these & get the coupon' & the gravies are on sale for 88c. Sooooo, you can do one round of buying 8 of those gravies for around $7.50. Then you will get a coupon for $8 instantly that you can come back in & use for more of those same items!

They have Campbells Select Soup cans for $1.28, that are also included in the deal. Well we found out if you buy 6 of those & 2 of the gravy mixes, then the checkout will spit out the $8 coupon, and also a coupon for $1.50 off 6 campbell soups. So then you can go back in again & get another 6 campbells select soups, 2 gravies & end up getting it for free or 30c at the most!

Each time you buy the soups you get another $8 checkout coupon, another $1.50 off of 6 Campbell's soup & sometimes a $1 off your next order. So we just got about 60 soups! LOL

They also have Celeste pizza for one on sale for 98c that is included in the "buy 8" deal, and Mott's apple sauce (23-24oz jar) for $1 each, also included in the "buy 8" deal. So if you want to mix it up a bit & add those to the 6 soups each time then it will still be virtually free.

We got soooo much stuff. Most we will use ourselves, some we will give to our good friends, then some we are going to take to the food bank.

It seemed like each time we got the 6 soups we were getting all 3 coupons printed out again - $8 off your next order, $1 off your next order, $1.50 off of 6 Campbell's soups. We only needed to use the $8 & the $1.50 off to get the 6 soups & 2 gravies for free. So we saved a few of the $1 coupons & then you can use them together to add one of the more pricier "buy 8" items into your order & still get it for free or close to free.

Hope I totally didn't confuse you... but run & get soups & gravies from Stop & Shop!!!! :D

Yes...they work fine...here is a detailed roadmap of the best way to monopolize on the deal

Here it is:

In my flyer , there is a deal called "Crazy 8 Sale" (on the last page)

"Save $8 when you buy 8 items. Use your Stop n Shop card and purchase any 8 items on this page in one transaction and you'll receive a coupon good for $8.00 off your next order"

Well....on that page there are 5 items which are $1 or less!

Campbell's Kids Soup - $1
Mott's Apple Sauce - $1 (Nice sale..regularly $2.40ish)
Sunny Delight Citrus Punch - .98
Celeste Pizza for One - .98
McCormick Gravies - .88

Also
Campbells's Select Soup (the good stuff) On sale for $1.28 (Regular around $2.50)

If you buy 8 of these.....and get a coupon for $8 off your next order.

Now here is how to monopolize it......

Step1:

Start off with buying 8 McCormick Gravies @ .88 each.
Your total will be $7.04 out of pocket.

You will receive a coupon for $8 off a future order

Net profit - $.96 (off future orders)

Step2:

Buy 4 Campbell Select Soups and 4 Gravies

Total is $8.64
Use your $8 coupon - Final Total is .64

You will receive a coupon for $8 off a future order

You should also receive the following (Campbells Promotions)

1) $1 off any future order coupon
2) $1.50 off 6 Campbell's Select soups (credit to onion for point this out)

Net profit - $.34 (off future orders)

NOW IT GETS GOOD

Step 3: -> Step: Infinity

Buy 6 Campbells Soups
Buy 1 Gravy
Buy any ONE of the following:

- Campbell's Kids Soup - $1
- Mott's Apple Sauce - $1
- Sunny Delight Citrus Punch - .98
- Celeste Pizza for One - .98

Your total before coupons will be either $9.54 or $9.56

Apply the following coupons - $8.00 off AND $1.50 off 6 Soups

FINAL TOTAL is either .04 or .06 cents!!

PLUS You will get the following printer out

1) $1 off any future order coupon
2) $1.50 off 6 Campbell's Select soups
3) $8.00 off a future order coupon

Net profit each time now doing this is basically the $1.00 off future order coupon (less the .04 or .06) cents.

Repeat Step 3 (or your own variations) as often as you wish.

Here is the flyer for my area.....click though to the last page to see it.

It works....I've done this around 35 times (various variations, etc). My total out of pocket expenses were around $12 or so (I did not get this perfected until around the 6th trip *L*). BUT....not only do I have the items...I still have over $24 in "money off future order coupons" to use. (They expire by 10/9). So I have a NET grocery profit of all the items PLUS $12.

Load up for yourself and also for your local food banks and churches! I'm sure there are plenty of organizations which will take donations for Katrina victims as well! Stock up yourself and family for the winter and makes somone else's family(s) happy too

So far...after two days.....my tally is this

235 Cans of Campbells Select Soups
36 Jars of Motts Apple Sauce (Natural, Original, Cinnamon, Organic, etc)
50 McCormick Gravies
12 Mama Celeste Pizzas
9 Sunny D's

Here are some
pics to prove it

THANKS!

Thanks for the fast advice knighthawke, you have a great stockpile, and this is a GREAT deal for donating.

I will probably focus on the select soups, frozen pizzas and hi c boxes, although picky-as* son just informed me he doesn't like them, will keep them on hand for feeding the neighborhood kids

I know I used my card each time and it worked . . . I was a little worried at first because the $1.50/6 cans of soup and $1 off your next order printed while the order was being scanned (I went to the self checkout lanes) but the $8 coupon printed after my total was complete and I had paid.

I did an order of 6 cans of soup and 2 things of gravy. I had $.60/3 coupons from an August insert which worked out better with doubles than the $1.50/6. I paid around $7.5X.

I did a total of 6 orders. Each one had six cans of soup and one of the gravies. On one of them I got a jar of applesauce. The rest I got pizzas. Then for the almost $2 in overage ($1.86 to be exact) I bought some Doctor Brown's sodas, Tam Tam crackers and frozen blintzes/potato pancakes to use for the Jewish New Year next week when I have my brother and father in law for dinner.

I have to go back to Staten Island tomorrow so I will try to squeeze in a few trips. The store there on Hyland was EMPTY . . . the markets are litterally in a row -- Stop & Shop, Shoprite and Pathmark.

I also want to hit Pathmark. They have a deal that when you buy $15 worth of Del Monte you get $5 off your next order. Shoprite has a similar deal for $3 off your next order when you spend $10. There were coupons in the Sunday paper for most of these items. I don't really need any more canned veggies -- I have a ton of Green Giant I got free -- it was one or two years ago. There is a rebate on them and I would like to do it once or twice and at Shoprite the deal includes the College Inn broth which I use.

Thanks so much for posting this deal.

Maddy
