To maximize the rollover of your ECB, and avoid spending upfront $$$ and have several ECBs left by end of the week, you REALLY need to start your purchase on Sunday, get your 1st ECB by Tuesday, 2nd ECB by Thursday, and the 3rd ECB by Sat. The only risk in this is that some items may ran out by end of the week, but your CVS is strict with the LIMIT OF 3 AD ITEMS, you should be fine.
For example:

SUNDAY: Buy 3 Colorsilk @ $10.00, pick some of the 5/$5
Tylenol/Motrin/Immodium items, use $1.00 coupons
OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE: $10.00 + tax
By Tuesday, you will get $10 ECB coupon

TUESDAY: Use your $10.00 ECB, buy 2 Lamisilk product @ $6.49 x 2 =
$12.98 - $3.00 coupon = $9.98, again pick some of the 5/$5
Tylenol/ Motrin/ Immodium items, use $1.00
coupons
OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE: 0
By Thursday, you will get $10 ECB

THURSDAY: Buy 3 Almay products, use $2.00/$1.00 coupons
Buy $1.99 GUM toothbrush, use $1.00 coupon
again pick some of the 5/$5 Tylenol/ Motrin/ Immodium
items, use $1.00 coupons
OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE: depends on what Almay products you purchase Almay will be BUY 1, GET 2ND @ 50 OFF sale, prices start at $1.99-$19.99 each), you may not have additional expense.
By Saturday, you will have 2 ECB coupons ($15 and $1.99) = $16.99

SATURDAY: Buy 5 Advil @ 5 x $4 = $20 - $5.00 coupon = $15.00,
again pick some of the 5/$5 Tylenol/ Motrin/ Immodium
items, use $1.00 coupons
OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE: 0, you will only use the $15 ECB, keep the $1.99 ECB for future use.
By Monday, you will have $10 ECB and the $1.99 that you didn’t use.

ADDED INFO for ECB rollover on TUES, THURS & SAT:

For some people who can access their ECB account online and be able to print their ECB$$ on TUES, THURS & SAT, this is great!

For those people who cannot access online, what you can do is on TUES, THURS, & SAT (or 2 days after purchase when you know that your ECB will print out at the store), print those TYLENOL/MOTRIN/IMMODIUM coupons. On those 3 days, first thing you do is get ONLY ONE of these items to the cash register, each of these items are $1.00 each, use your $1.00 coupons, WALLAH! FREE, you don't have to pay anything (except tax), when your receipt comes out, your ECB$ will also print out, then purchase the rest of your stuff and pay with your ECB$.

Ok I need some major help here I just last week got a cvs card and when I went to the website it says that current coupon 0 then it says $43.32 coupon extracare balance. What does this mean? I am having a hard time for some reason figuring out how this works. The manager told me you can only get the reciept or printout once every 3 months. Someone please help me figure out how to do this. Can you use the internet coupons? and is there a list that shows you how to get the ecb's? Thanks for all your help.

alot of this should be in the new ad today from CVS. THere should be ECB coupons that print out when you do their offers. I am not sure about your balance. As far as internet coupons you will have to check with your local store to see if they accept them or not. I do not have problems with mine

Cvs ecb's

ok went to cvs today, I don't think we have the same ecb's here in Northern Illinois, our ad does not show any of the things you listed and when I checked out there is nothing on my receipt. It just says that as of 8-25- I have a balance of 43.32 I have no idea how this works.
Thanks for all of your help

Thanks, OP, for fantastic details on deals and all the info you shared!!!!

Sprint, I can relate greatly. I have never yet received any ECB's! And tonight I was expecting a few bucks back from a purchase 2 weeks ago. So, I'll call the 800 number and get squared away for once and for all.

As for Almay products, I bought 3 soaps in the make-up section. The cashier mentioned the ECB to me so I'm expecting it to go through for those items, roughly 3.50 each (plus $1 off coupons I had). If not, they'll be returned.

Sorry if this is a repeat question but are ECBs offers limited to 1 per card?

I'm in se Wi and I don't think our cvs has ecb yet either. Out ad says nothing about them and I don't get it either!

I did get a $2 coupon at the bottom of my crt yesterday when I filled a rx. I used it to buy milk.

here is what it says about ECB

How Do I Get My Extra Buck$ Rewards?
Learn more about ExtraCare, and get the extras you deserve.

* Every 3 months your Extra Bucks will print on your store register receipt, or visit CVS.com to print your Extra Bucks.
* Spend your Extra Bucks at any CVS/pharmacy or online at CVS.com the next time you shop!

The every 3 month thing is you get 2% back of what you spend quarterly. you also get $1 EB for every 2 prescriptions filled.

Ecb deals are nationwidee so even if you don't see them in your ad you will get credit and eb's for buying the deals.

If you are in a Jewel/Osco market that's switching over to CVS and your store doesn't have the computers set up then you won't. But you can ask at your store if they're dba CVS yet.

Thanks for all the info. One more how do you know what to buy?
my flyer never says what is ecb or what isn't.. when I go to cvs I don't see anything there either. Should I keep the haircolor that I don't need or do I take it back(LOL). I guess I could give it away but then on second thought I don't want anyone mad at me either ha!ha! Thanks for all your help

You get 2% of your purchases back only in $25 increments. That gives you a $ .50 coupon. If you have $24.95 you don't get anything. I think it stinks beause they don't tell you this up front.
