(OT) Age limit for coupons at AC Moore?
Hi --
Just came back from a trip to AC Moore where I was stocking up on things for my daughter's second birthday. I had two 50% off one item coupons. The terms were one coupon per customer per day. I saw a staffer in the aisle (I think he was the manager, but not absolutely certain) and with my best smile I asked "What is the age for using coupons? If we buy a toy can my daughter use a coupon?" He said no. I personally think that makes him a party pooper, but is there a rule? Has anyone else experienced this? I know I was pushing it with a two year old and half expected to be turned down, so I'm not upset about this, just curious as to what other Moms do and at what age I can reasonably insist on using a coupon that has no stated age limits. Thanks! |

the coupons are mostly for adults but kids of certain ages may use them. unfortunatly parents abuse tis and have all there kids buy stuff with the coupons we know they are not gonna use>yarn...frames...seriously this coupon deal is a real pain. especially when you have to tell someone they cant use 3 day.did i mention i work there?

Ok, funny story! Your right, the manager WAS a party pooper! I had a similiar experience at Victoria's Secret. After reading all the info. about getting the free undies with the coupons---can you get more than one at time etc. My store would not let me get more than one. So, I had my 6 year old son get a free one. They couldn't do anything about that. So the free $7.00 undies will end up costing me thousands in therapy down the road.

If you're child is a shopper why wouldn't she be able to use it?
My kids shop lots of times with their own money to buy something and if I have a coupon for them to use they use it. |

Technically, if it said "one per customer" they should have allowed your daughter to be a customer. I have done it often with mine.
Reminds me of a police officer years ago ticketing me for using the carpool lane with kids in the car. He had to nerve to say "they weren't people". Needless to say I won in court. |

Thank you for your kind replies. My husband said I shouldn't have asked first -- just should have gone up to the register and tried it. I guess I'm not that gutsy. But maybe next time I will be. I would like to add that the staffer didn't save the store any money -- I bumped into a lady I know from my husband's job and gave her the coupon.
![]() I love the story about the ticket -- WHAT NERVE -- You must have enjoyed beating him in court! |

I just emailed AC Moore corporate and told them what happened and asked for a clarification of any age limits they might have on using coupons. I tried to make my query as sweet and cute as possible. If they reply, I'll post it -- and if its positive, all of us Moms (and Dads) can use it at our local stores. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!

We were at Linens N' Things yesterday afternoon b/c my daughter's (6 & 9) were shopping for my birthday presents. They had a coupon for 20% off of the total purchase and were asked no questions -- they were able to buy what they wanted and saved quite a bit of money in the process!! I think most stores would "probably" go more for school aged children using coups -- what do you think?

Until they start printing an age limit on the coupon, I don't see where they have a leg to stand on...age discrimination of sorts
