Got the ad today. TMX Elmo on front page for $34.88. Sale dates 10/1-10/7. Also, they have many other toy deals including a Baby Alive set with a 6 piece bonus for $39.97. Both are a One Time Buy. (if you would like a scanned copy of ad, PM me)

my local wal-mart said that the demand is going to be much greater than the supply. she told me that they will only have about 10 elmo's and it is on a first come first serve basis and they are going to give a number to the ones that show up first. I was told if you have a freind that works at any of these stores they are allowed 2 elmo's

Wow, this is what I got my 3 for at Wal Mart last weekend, guess they decided to do the sale early, I'll be willing to bet they won't have them now for the sale at my store! I have heard that it is up to the individual store mgrs, to do this, some like to get the product out of the store before the ad comes out, so it will be less to deal with. I know some Wal Marts do this at thanksgiving time, will go ahead and start selling their special buys a day or two early.
Cool, I got the sale early! GL all....

The store I got mine from last weekend, for $34.88, had approximately 30, and there was not a crowd rushing after them, thankfully!

Hope you don't mind a quick Elmo funny...
There is a factory in Northern Minnesota which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arms. Well, Lena is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00 AM. The next day at 8:45 AM there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands Lena surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmos. She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs. The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches Lena. I'm sorry," he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, "but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday..." Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles. |

I live in northern IL and people were standing in line before Target even opened on Monday morning to buy these and they were gone in less than 5 mins. I still have not found one, but I sure am not going to stand in line for one

LOL. I just got back from Walmart and was in the toy section and didn't even look for the Elmo dolls. I was more intent to looking for the Spongebob Bikini Bottom Lego sets (that my store STILL does not have in stock - I have them backordered at both amazon and nick.com).
I went to Walmart for the $2 All Small & Mighty laundry detergent and trail mix. I probably should have looked for the Elmo dolls. I would not have bought any though, but I could have reported back if my store had them. I didn't see anybody with them in their carts/buggys though. |
