I live in Northern California and ours never go 90% I have been told at 3 Walmarts that they do not ever go to 90% and put whatever they did not sell in trash compactor. I think it is a shame they should at least donate like other stores do.

I called ours and they said they wouldn't do 90% off. I also called CVS and they said they would no longer be doing 90% off either. She told me they have plans to keep it at 75% off. Weird.

Our Walmart had a display at the front entrance stating Christmas items 75% off, but it turned out it was only the wrapping paper and bath set gift items--NOT the food gift items, which were scanning at 50% off. I went to our Walgreens store up the street, instead, and picked up a couple nice beef sausage gift sets for 75% off, ie, $2.25.
It's strange--I keep hearing about Walmart's low prices, but the Walmart and Target stores here in MA often have higher prices than the other stores.

I did better on Target's clearance than Walmart's! That's good, because I like target's Christmas stuff better! I don't think all the stores do the trash compacter thing, like it is up to the mgr (maybe)...I know of some of the stores that actually stored stuff from last year and brought back out to sell this year!

I support Target more than Walmart because Target donates their returns/non selling things to Goodwill
and as a matter of fact, I was at Goodwill tonight and they were LOADED with Target goodies...I got Bailey a Be-Bratz(around $25-30) for $3-it was not in a box but had been taped in its plastic packaging nicely so I decided to grab it---and it works perfectly. They also had a PowerTour guitar($50-$60) out of box for $6!! I would hate to think that Walmart would just trash good stuff(and I dont mean returns,Im saying non selling)

I think you have to hit Walmart + Target at the "right time" I was able to get 2 adorable potted fake mini but goodsized christmas trees for $1.45 after the 75% off- my DD decorated hers with the mini Hello kitty ornaments we picked up at Target for $1.25....she can keep the tree in her room for awhile + decorate it with current holidays- like Valentine's day, Easter etc.....The mini ornaments were being marked to 10 cts when I was at Walmart- the lady said she didn't put the sign up yet- but they would ring up as 10 cts...( but alot were red + sparkly + Istarted thinking about the lead paint- since they are made inChina like everything else is nowadays! ** I also picked up some cute little girls sticker books for 25 cts- I had to talk to the mgr about these as they were ringing up $1....and were in the 75% off Christmas section...the pkg's had snowflakes on them ...and they were trying to say they weren't Christmas.....ugghhhhhhh!!!!!!!! These were small + I highly doubt they would have been $4to begin with...as they are cute for 25 cts but not a bargain at $1........**Ohh the Christmas trees I got at Walmart.....and there weren't any bath sets left...and I really missed the lip smackers......
