Family Dollar.
Overall, not impressed. They do accept manufacturers coupons and there are some deals to be had but overall, I do better at the dollar stores and other large closeout and discount stores like Big Lots and Fallas Paredes (here on the west coast) along with Factory 2-U and the clearance sections of all of my favorite department and grocery stores.
I did manage to buy a few things for my pantry including soul food seasoning (50 cents, no MSG), chicken of the sea tuna 59 cents, their house brand box of spaghetti 59 cents, $1 Russell Stover sugar free caramel medallions bag, house brand canister of party peanuts on clearance for 80 cents, large non-dairy powdered no name creamer $1.50 and a canister of ground coffee with a vintage-y look (I believe it is called mellow'd) for $2. These two things were my favorite finds (I like to have cookies on hand for guests in my cookie jar and I often usually buy whatever is clearanced): http://www.commercialbakeries.com/products_maple.asp Cookies from Canada! Maple Leaf Creme Cookies, 14 ounces 80 cents And these I've never seen before in a store - nice find (for me)! Especially since I love coconut. These were my mother's favorite candy snack (the sugared version, of course): http://www.atkinsoncandy.com/store/d...1&productid=82 Atkinson's Chick-O-Stix Sugar Free Candy 3.75 ounce bag $1.50 which is a small savings over the 6 bag rate listed on their website I spent about $9 and change in total. Fun shopping trip but I doubt I'd go back unless it was for something specific. Definitely not impressed with their cheap quality clothing section for outrageous prices and their toiletries like shampoo and soap were also no good for the prices. $4 for no name shampoo? I don't think so. ![]() -Vegasbrat |

Hi Vegasbrat!
Family Dollar is one of my favorite stores for certain things. I don't have some of the stores in my area which you mentioned, and they may be better...But you have to know what to look for in Family Dollar. Sun Laundry detergent in the big size is the cheapest around for liquid detergent in my area at $2.50 for 128 oz. . So are certain household supplies like Tilex at $2, a 3 pack of Puffs at $2.87, Dixie paper plates at $1.99. Arizona Green Tea is 79 cents for a big can, Hunts pudding cups are a dollar for a pack, their generic version of Claritin is really cheap: 30 pills for less than $3 and better than Claritin. A big box of Famous Amos cookies are $2. Most of the cookie prices are good. They have inexpensive prices for basic small appliances-recent offers included a $4 iron and a $4 blender. They sell certain small brand name toys for less-little Bratz, Fisher Price. I bought a Care Bear with a DVD for a Christmas present for $5. Their Trak phones sold for 9.87 recently. They have Hanes underwear packs for $4 and that's $2 less than Walmart. Their bras can be good about $3 for some brand names sold at JC Penney. They have cute summer flip flops with beading for cheap. And all of their baby clothes and little children's clothes are adorable. It's easy to pick up a nice gift for $5-some with brand names. Their household decorations are current in style, nice lamps and attractive cheap frames and decorative candles which actually smell good. Their prices are good for disposable cameras. Garden decorations are also cute and cheap. Pier One this year sold some of the same Christmas decorations that they had for a lot more. They have had some gorgeous wall mirrors in decorative frames. Certain OTC medications like Neosporin are a lot less here. Look again! Nancy |

Our Family Dollar store always has good deals. I get alot of my baby's clothes from there. They have some cute outfits for her. They also have good prices for bathroom and bedroom items. I got my son the spiderman bed set for $20.00. A spongebob shower curtain for $6.00. I shop at Family Dollar and Dollar General all the time cause they are just down the road from me.

I also am not too impressed with Family Dollar. I only go there specifically to look at the clearance racks. I buy most of my childrens clothes at Fallas Paredes. Family Dollar clearance prices are usually more than the everyday prices there
