I know at one point McDonald's was giving away a free small hot mocha with a $10 arch card purchase, and I've heard of other deals, too....anyone know of good ones??

I've noticed a lot of restaurants giving $$ with the purchase of a gift card, like a free $5 gift card when you buy a $25 gift card. The ones I can think of are Uno's, Texas Roadhouse, Pedro's, but I know there are a lot more! And some restaurants go up, like $25 if you buy 100.00 worth of gift cards.

I purchased 6 $25 gift cards at Applebees for Christmas gifts so I received 6 $5 gift cards for us. When I got home, I read the fine print on the back of the cards. You can use only 1 card per visit, per table. So I would have to go 6 different times to use the cards. I took them back and got a refund. They were really nice about it. I don't think the other restaurants have the same restrictions. So ask before you buy!

We got a coupon in our junk mail for a free quart of icecream when you buy a $25 Coldstone gift card.

A couple of weeks ago, we bought some $75 giftcards at Sears and got $10 reward giftcards for each one.

With the bad economy, you would think that there would be more deals for buying gc's.
